April Lockhart is a born July 4th on the 4th of July, 1995. When she was in the 7th grade she started to take guitar lessons and piano lessons. That ignited her enthusiasm to write songs. The song that she first wrote for April was Different which she composed when she was 12 years old. She spent lots of time at 14 writing songs and practicing the music. Her writing began alongside her dad on the streets of NY and LA soon after. April started to incorporate different topics that were relevant to the song, such as the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure impairments and even suicide among teenagers. Lockhart collaborates with the well-known clean beauty brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle influencer, with an increasing following of her own. The truth is that she was born without a left hand and that is what makes her different. However, this isn't the only aspect that makes her unique. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability on her account on Instagram, but she doesn't place it in the spotlight of it. The point? We all have multiple aspects in our lives that make us unique and that we're far beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart with a short video message from Nashville's home says that I do not wish to let this define me. I'm much beyond my physical self. My daily routine isn't dependent on it.
