Zazie was the daughter of a cabinet maker from Berlin in Germany, around 1991. Her father was an German Cabinet Maker who came to live in the United States following the fall of Berlin Wall. She graduated from that same school with Jennifer Aniston. Following her graduation from LaGuardia, Beetz went on to complete her studies in French in Skidmore College. When she graduated from the college Beetz began to audition immediately and was offered the part in the role of Van in Atlanta. Beetz is a native of Berlin with two parents: a German father and an African American mother. She was raised both and in New York. Zazie was a stage performer within the community as well as on stage in New York since her childhood. Zazie discovered that she loved acting when she was at school. Zendaya was eleven years old at the time, while during a road trip with her family, she came across a meat-processing plant.
